Property in Marsa Alam Egypt
Property in Marsa Alam is attracting overseas buyers both investors and life style buyers so why is Marsa Alam Egypt so popular place to invest and holiday in Egypt?
South of the newly built resort towns along the northern Red Sea coast of Egypt is the old fishing village of Marsa Alam. This town, which has been here for millennium, is now seeing a number of new resorts and developments, adding a modern touch to this charming village.
Marsa Alam stands at the crossroads of the road from Edfu to the west and the road running the length of the Red Sea coast, some 790 kilometers south of Cairo. In 2001 an international airport was opened, making it much more accessible and leading the way to new complexes and visitors. The Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF) has flights to and from all over Europe, making it easy to get to.
Prior to the opening of the airport, most visitors to the area stayed in Bedouin style camps around the village and along the coast. Now there are some 80 kilometers of sporadically developed coast from Port Ghalib in the north to Wadi El Gemal National Park in the south. For the adventurous types there are still some Bedouin camps, but there are also many modern hotels and developments where you can buy or lease a brand new apartment.
The area has quickly become a favorite for divers and snorkelers in the Red Sea. There are kilometers of excellent coral reefs, many of which are close to the shore for snorkelers and less experienced divers. There are also very nice spots for kite and windsurfers to enjoy the water. This area makes an ideal place for a vacation or holiday home.
